They say small things please small minds, which perhaps says
something that I managed to get such entertainment from a simple pinecone.
Yesterday, when Mat and I went for a walk, we found this
pinecone. I have tried setting up a shot at home and I must admit that I had
yet to taste success. Also, I hadn’t used the built- in effects before so I
really wasn’t expecting much when I set up.
I used the Olympus E500’s sepia mode coupled with a red
digital filter. I used forced flash and a macro lens to try and capture more of
the detail in the pinecone.
For a beginner at setting up shots in the comfort of my own
home I think this worked incredibly well, and I very much look forward to the
next set up!
